of our county.

2010-2011 Highlights
1) Received the Gold Level Affiliate Award
from Keep South Carolina Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful Associations.
2) Reached over 2,270 elementary students
through its education program with an anti-litter and waste reduction
message.
3) Received a grant from Palmetto Pride to
develop Photo Contest Calendar for 2012,
provide re-usable bags for elementary and public
library, and continue our elementary
education program and provide informational outreach to the community.
4) Conducted the Annual Litter Survey for the
sixth straight year. Results suggest that litter remains to be a problem
with the overall county rated "Slightly Littered".
5) Received President's Circle Recognition
from Keep America Beautiful for the fifth straight year. Award signifies
KOBA continues to fulfill all its affiliate requirements.
6) Now in our 26th year as a significant
volunteer organization.
7) Other Highlights: continued participation
in Great American Clean Up, Earth Day, participated in KAB
conferences and forums, promoted KOBA's message at numerous
venues.
Plan to
Reduce Illegally Placed Signs
In November, 2011, KOBA presented a
plan
to the County Council to reduce illegally
placed signs on roadways.

(and, by the way,
